GLP-1 Weight Loss

Weight loss medicine, managed by a physician who knows your case.

Semaglutide and tirzepatide, prescribed only when appropriate and monitored for as long as you're a member.

Confidence Regained

Feeling like yourself again.

Most patients aren't chasing a number. They want to stand a little taller and feel at home in their body again.

What's Included

More than a prescription.

Physician-set dosing

Your starting dose and titration schedule are set by a licensed physician, not a fixed protocol.

Ongoing monitoring

Regular check-ins to track progress, side effects and whether your dose needs adjusting.

Metabolic lab review

Baseline and follow-up labs to understand what's happening beyond the scale.

Direct physician messaging

Ask questions about side effects or progress any time through your patient portal.

Understanding GLP-1

How GLP-1 medications work.

GLP-1 receptor agonists mimic a hormone your gut naturally produces to regulate appetite, prescribed alongside clinical monitoring, not as a standalone fix.

Semaglutide

A GLP-1 receptor agonist that helps regulate appetite and slows gastric emptying. Dosed weekly by injection, titrated gradually under physician supervision.

Tirzepatide

A dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist. Also dosed weekly, prescribed where clinically appropriate based on your assessment.

The Clinical Evidence

More than a weight-loss drug.

Large clinical trials, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, show GLP-1 treatment can lower cardiovascular risk, protect kidney function, ease sleep apnea and improve fatty liver disease, benefits that reach well beyond the number on the scale.

SELECT Trial · NEJM 2023

20% lower cardiovascular risk

A 17,604-person study of adults with obesity and existing heart disease found semaglutide reduced cardiovascular death, heart attack and stroke, independent of diabetes status.

FLOW Trial · NEJM 2024

Slower kidney disease progression

In patients with type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease, semaglutide reduced kidney disease progression, major kidney events and cardiovascular events.

SURMOUNT-OSA · NEJM 2024

Fewer sleep apnea episodes

Adults with obesity and moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea saw a significant drop in apnea-hypopnea index and, for many, reduced need for CPAP.

Liver Disease Trials · NEJM 2021 & 2024

Higher rates of liver disease resolution

Semaglutide and tirzepatide studies in patients with fatty liver disease (MASH) showed higher rates of disease resolution and improved fibrosis markers.

What to Expect

What patients notice, beyond the number on the scale.

  • Reduced hunger and food cravings
  • Improved blood sugar control
  • Lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes
  • Improved blood pressure and cholesterol
  • More energy and mobility day to day
  • Reduced risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular complications
  • Improved sleep apnea severity and reduced CPAP dependence

Beyond the Scale

Weight loss and long-term cancer risk.

Carrying excess weight raises the risk of at least 13 cancers, including breast, endometrial, colorectal and liver cancer, driven largely by chronic inflammation, elevated insulin and IGF-1 signaling, and hormonal changes in fat tissue.

GLP-1 medications are not a cancer treatment or a proven prevention strategy. But by lowering insulin resistance, reducing visceral fat and improving fatty liver disease, they may help reverse some of the metabolic changes linked to that risk. Long-term cancer-outcome research is still ongoing.

Large studies have not found a link between GLP-1 treatment and pancreatic cancer. The medication class carries a boxed warning related to thyroid tumors seen in rodent studies, so it is not prescribed to anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2.
